Kiltwalk fundraisers are doing all sorts of challenges to raise funds for people with sight loss.

Edinburgh resident Robert Steven is challenging himself to rollerblade across Edinburgh.

"I'm going to rollerblade from Portabello to Cramond Beach in a kilt," Robert says.

"I've cycled the 9-mile route many times during lockdown, and I've always wondered: what would it be like to rollerblade?

"I'm sure my friends will donate a wee bob to Sight Scotland when I do it in a kilt."

Robert says the Kiltwalk fundraising process is easy.

"When I registered, Kiltwalk automatically set up a Justgiving webpage for me. All I have to do is share the webpage's URL, and my friends and family can donate on the webpage."

All funds raised through Kiltwalk will be topped up an extra 50% by The Hunter Foundation.

"It's quite incredible," Robert says.  "For every £10 someone donates, Sight Scotland will receive £15."

The Kiltwalk challenge will be the first time Robert, a British-New Zealand dual citizen, has worn a kilt.

"I'm looking forward to it.  I'll do some practice on the rollerblades in the next few weeks which will be a great way to get fit and burn off some of that lockdown weight I've gained over winter.

"My finish line will be Cramond Beach and I'm planning to celebrate at the end with a friend from another household.

"I'll be relieved to see that finish line!"
