Our Corporate Volunteering opportunities provide a unique experience for organisations across Scotland to give back to the community.
And not only that, they also have some great positive benefits for you and your team too by...
- Promoting positive transformation with corporate volunteering opportunities at Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans;
- Engaging your employees in meaningful, practical tasks that make a real impact; and
- Fulfilling corporate social responsibility objectives by involving your team in hands-on volunteering activities that leave a lasting, positive imprint on the lives of those with sight loss.
Hilti volunteers at Hawkhead
Our Hawkhead Centre welcomed nine volunteers from Hilti - a construction tooling company - for a corporate volunteering day. They were given a tour of the centre and its facilities, learning more about Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, spent some time chatting with some of the veterans we support at the centre, and even had the chance to try their hand at axe-throwing!
After this relaxed start, they were then put to work sanding down two of the benches from our gardens to make them ready to be painted for Spring.
We received some wonderful feedback from Hilti about their experience - and on top of that, they have kindly offered to replace the power tools at our veterans' centres, and provide any other tools we need and support to our maintenance crew, which we're hugely thankful for.

Why we charge for corporate volunteering days
Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans are dedicated to delivering a high quality, safe, enjoyable and meaningful volunteering experience for both you and your employees.
To ensure we can continue our vital work, we aim for full cost recovery for our corporate volunteering opportunities. Our transparent charging structure includes:
-
expenses for staffing
-
activity supervision
-
materials for volunteers
-
administration costs.
In addition to the above, we ask your organisation to make a charitable donation at its own discretion.
Your contribution directly aids those with sight loss in Scotland, enabling us to provide an enriching experience that resonates with your corporate values and helps you meet your Corporate Social Responsibility objectives.
