Ross Murray joined the Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans team, as Head of Impact and Governance and Charity Secretary in February 2024. In this role Ross be responsible for building up our impacts activity so that we have a better understanding of the positive role we play in people’s lives, while having responsibility for governance including executive support, quality and compliance. 

After completing a degree in Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen in 2012, Ross started his career on the City of Edinburgh Council’s Corporate Governance graduate scheme. There he undertook qualifications in project management and leadership, before becoming a Chartered Associate with the Corporate Governance Institute (CGIUKI) in 2020. 

Over the last eleven years he has worked in a variety of different governance, assurance, secretariat and risk roles for the local authority, gaining operational experience in the delivery of elections, before joining our charities this week.

For the last two years he has also been a course tutor for those undertaking the CGIUKI’s Chartered Governance Qualifying Scheme.
