She is responsible for managing a wide range of services such as Education, Care, Independent Living, Community Services, Advice and Support, Veterans Activity Hubs, and the Scottish Braille Press.

"We are really fortunate to have a lot of colleagues across the organisation that work from a similar values base and are passionate about providing the best care and support that they can."

Gillian joined Sight Scotland Veterans when our Hawkhead Centre was being built in 2017, became Head of Wellbeing two years ago and this year took on the new role of Director of Operations for both Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans.
"I come from a social care background, having managed a variety of services for the past 15 years. When I first started at Sight Scotland Veterans my role was to bring in the team there and develop the new service. Then I moved into the Head of Wellbeing post to support the creation and implementation of Sight Scotland Veterans' new strategy and build the new Support Hub service, before starting my new role as Director of Operations earlier this year.
"It's a really exciting role as it spans both charities, with a view to really understanding all the great work being done across both. I'm responsible for managing a wide range of services such as Education, Care, Independent Living, Community Services, Advice and Support, Veterans Activity Hubs, and the Scottish Braille Press so there is lots of variety in day-to-day.
“We have such a vast amount of experience and skills across our charities. Our mission is to reach everyone with sight loss – where and when they need us. We are really fortunate to have a lot of colleagues across the organisation that work from a similar values base and are passionate about providing the best care and support that they can."
