Are you a visually impaired school leaver in Scotland looking for real workplace experience?
At Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, we’re piloting a brand-new 9 month internship programme designed to support visually impaired young people as they take their next steps into the world of work.
Primarily based at our Head Office in Edinburgh, this internship gives you the chance to experience a genuine working environment with the right support, guidance and accessible practices in place.
What you can expect
- A warm introduction to Sight Scotland: Learn about our mission, our teams and the different services we run across Scotland.
- Real tasks and hands on experience: You’ll be given meaningful responsibilities and supported by colleagues to help you grow your confidence and skills.
- Training sessions focused on transferable skills: Throughout the internship you’ll take part in training designed to build the essential skills every workplace values — such as communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning, organisation and digital confidence. These skills will help you thrive not only during the internship but in any future role you pursue.
- A supportive, inclusive environment: We’ll work with you to make sure everything is accessible and that you have what you need to succeed.

This internship is paid in line with the Scottish Living Wage, ensuring your contribution is recognised and valued from day one.
