Our monthly Archery Clubs made their long-awaited return to the Hawkhead Centre on Saturday, bringing together veterans from across Scotland.
These regular sessions aim to empower veterans with new skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Developed and delivered by our Sporting and Partnership team, the session was led by volunteer head coach, Rod Smith, who has been volunteering for Sight Scotland Veterans for more than a year.
As well as teaching archery skills, Rod also works directly with one of our Veterans, John, providing him with support as he works towards his own Archery Coaching Accreditation.
David Macleod from Sight Scotland Veterans' Sporting and Partnership Team helps to organise and support the monthly sessions as an instructor and spoke about the welcome return of the classes.

It was amazing to see an ever-growing group of our Sight Scotland Veterans getting involved in the archery club. This has been one of our best sessions to date, you can really see the progress several of our veterans are making each month.
We were joined this week by a number of Veterans from our partner organisations at Combat Stress and Help For Heroes, and we hope to see them come along again in the future.
The Archery Club takes place at the Hawkhead Centre every month and is free to attend for all Members of Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, and their families. It is designed to empower veterans with new skills, new confidence, and create a welcoming and relaxed environment to socialise with others.
This is the first of many, and our Archery Club will be returning in April, with a date to be confirmed shortly.
In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about how you, a friend or family member, can get involved in the next monthly Archery Club session at Hawkhead then contact the Sporting and Partnership team on: 0800 035 6409.
