Sandra is our Lead Rehabilitation Officer. A qualified Rehabilitation Officer, she worked for Renfrewshire’s Social Work Sensory Impairment Team for 17 years, supporting people of all ages, including children living with a vision impairment or hearing impairment, before joining the charity.

Sandra joined us as a Rehabilitation Officer in April 2016, working with veterans in their homes across Scotland

She was promoted to Lead Rehabilitation Officer in Spring 2019, ensuring a quality service to enhance the charity’s veterans’ safety, independence and quality of life.

Sandra manages our expert Rehabilitation Team, which currently consists of a Hawkhead Centre-based Rehabilitation Officer, a Linburn Centre-based Rehabilitation Officer and Rehabilitation Assistant, and three Rehabilitation Officers who visit veterans with sight loss in their homes across the country to provide skills training, specialist equipment assessments and advice.

 

Sandra said: “I am thrilled to be working as Lead Rehabilitation Officer and absolutely delighted that the skills of our Rehabilitation team enables us to offer a valuable service to our veterans across the country.

“Our qualified team has a vast array of expertise and many years of experience and knowledge.

“My aim is to ensure our members receive the right support to ensure their independence and quality of life are maximised through assessment, provision of equipment and skills training.”
