Nurse within Residential Care

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, creative, forward thinking and dedicated person to join our Nursing team within the Royal Blind School.

You will be an experienced nurse in Child Health or Learning Disabilities and have experience of being responsible for the assessment of care needs, along with the development, implementation and evaluation of care.

Our nursing and care teams ensure that the children and young people receive the highest quality of care and support while taking pride in promoting good relationships with the children and their families to empower and encourage a sense of achievement.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team will be second nature to you as will your ability to adapt and respond positively to the unexpected. We provide 24-hour support, so we need you to be able to work shifts, including weekends

Residential Care Worker

We are looking for caring, creative, forward thinking and dedicated people to join our Residential Care Worker team within Adult Services at Sight Scotland which is the new name for Royal Blind.

Our Residential team take pride in promoting good relationships with our young adults to empower and encourage a sense of achievement.

Our service comprises of four houses in Edinburgh providing day to day support to adults with a vision impairment as well as other disabilities. The post involves shift working over 24 hours, 7 days per week.

Applicants must have an HNC in Social Care plus all eight SVQ 3 units or an equivalent qualification which will be essential for registration with the SSSC or appropriate professional body.

Management Accountant

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Finance team within the at Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans. As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth operation of our finance department, which serves both charities. This is a newly created post and reflects our growth in recent years.

Sight Scotland has annual income of £18M and assets of £51M. Sight Scotland Veterans has income of £3M and assets of £57M. This is a very exciting time to join Sight Scotland and your initial responsibility will be to co-ordinate the implementation of a new financial accounting system.

Applicants should be either a part qualified accountant or qualified by experience. Particular attention will be given to applicants who have experience in the following areas:


  • Working with bespoke accounting packages
  • Budget preparation and monitoring for multiple services
  • Producing annual accounts for both charities and our pension fund to FRS 102
  • Investment management and reporting
