Once a year, our whole school community comes together for our Family Fun Day, a chance to get together and celebrate the end of another wonderful year ahead of the summer holidays.
The Royal Blind School grounds were flooded with sunshine, the smells of the barbecue, a fire engine for people to explore, blind football games held by former pupil and acclaimed athlete Sam Gough MBE, face painting, stalls, and dozens of animals to pet and befriend.
In this video, our Head of Education, Lucy, shares exactly why this event is so special and important in celebrating the school year and the achievements of all our pupils.
“They’ve loved it today. They love it every year… we all build up and look forward to it coming, so it’s really fabulous. We’re already busy planning what our next year is going to look like, where our young people are going to be, which classes they’re in, and our fabulous, fun events that we plan throughout the year.”
