At Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, we’ve made some changes to how our services operate.

What has changed

Previously, even though our two charities ran similar services, they were run separately. This included Rehabilitation and Mobility and Family Wellbeing for Sight Scotland, and Rehabilitation, Independent Living and Support Hub (Sport and Partnerships, Information Line, Digital Hub) for Sight Scotland Veterans.

Following a review of our services, from 28 April 2026, the colleagues who provide our support services will cover both Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, in dual roles and new teams.

This new structure is designed to improve how we deliver support services, so we can reach more people with visual impairments all over Scotland.

What this means for you

For those who already utilise our services, there may be changes to the way support is delivered, who provides the support, and the type of support offered.

While these changes take place there may also be slight disruption to our service rotas and groups, however if there are any changes to a service or group, a member of our team will be in touch direct.

For those who are interested in our services or have questions, you can still use the normal professional referral process or support line contact numbers below. Please note that while one form/number is for veterans, and the other for non-veterans, this is an interim measure until we can merge the two processes together to cover both groups.

Contact details for visually impaired veterans

We will have staff training sessions for our new teams weeks commencing 27 April and 4 May, so some colleagues may not be available during this time, but if you call and leave a message with the info lines listed above a member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.
