Christine is the partner of Jimmy, a late Sight Scotland Veterans Digital Hub member who sadly passed away.

Christine recently visited the Hawkhead Centre to meet the veterans face-to-face who had such a profound impact on her and her partner’s life.

During her visit, she shared fond memories of how much the digital hub calls meant to Jimmy and expressed her gratitude for the camaraderie, support, and sense of belonging he found among fellow veterans.

What is the Digital Hub?

Sight Scotland Veterans’ Digital Hub was created to combat loneliness and isolation and to help veterans connect, chat, and take part in fun activities. Every week, more than 90 veterans join the Digital Hub for virtual calls. These aren’t just for entertainment; they’re opportunities to build friendships, share experiences, and feel part of something that’s both uplifting and meaningful. The Digital Hub proves that technology can bring people together, no matter where you live.

Our team provides information and support that will help you stay connected to the things that matter to you and support your loved ones. Get expert advice and practical help for yourself or a veteran you care for by visiting sightscotlandveterans.org.uk, or calling 0800 035 6409
