Class Teacher

Are you an innovative, caring, dynamic teacher with a creative approach to learning?

The Royal Blind School is a leading provider of specialist education services for children and young people with Vision Impairment, including those with additional support and/or complex needs. As a Grant Aided Independent Special School, we deliver education and support for day and residential pupils aged 5 to 19 years.

You will provide a safe and high-quality learning environment in which our children and young people will thrive. You will be responsible for the coordination of an assigned class and will work collaboratively with the multi-professional team within the school and colleagues within the wider organisation to plan and deliver a personalised curriculum for each child and young person.

Experience of working with children who have Vision Impairment and/or additional support needs is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

The post is subject to GTCS registration and PVG Scheme Record/Update for regulated work with children.

Habilitation Specialist

We are looking for a Habilitation Specialist to support our pupils at the Royal Blind School and pupils in the wider community through our Outreach Team. You will work in the delivery of programmes to support pupils in developing safe and effective Orientation, Mobility and Independent Living skills with the aim of assisting the children and young people to become as independent as possible.

Head of Wellbeing

We are looking to recruit a Head of Wellbeing to join Sight Scotland Veterans. You will have direct responsibility for the charity’s Wellbeing services including the charity’s two activity centres for veterans with sight loss in Paisley and Linburn and our online service provision.

As a strategic thinker with a track record in service delivery, you will be part of a high performing team which will lead the charity to continued success in meeting the aspirations of those who we support.? Your role will involve developing and embedding practice frameworks for each of the services you manage along with the wider charity by leading teams to deliver high quality outcomes that make a difference to people’s lives.

As we launch our 3-year strategy, you will be a key member of the Senior Management Team. You will share responsibility for the delivery of the charity’s goals by helping the charity achieve is strategic ambition.

As the charity seeks to change, grow and innovate, you will lead on a range of cross functional strategies developing new and redesigning existing service offerings to align and increase service provision and involvement.

If you have operated at a senior management level and have an appropriate practice qualification to meet SSSC criteria to register as a manager of the charity’s two activity centres, we would love to hear from you.

Operations Support Manager

We are looking for an Operations Support Manager with a background in operational management who has significant knowledge of improvement approaches, the application of lean tools and techniques to add value along with the ability to deliver projects on time.

You will be part of Sight Scotland Veterans Senior Management Team, helping us to achieve our strategic ambitions by developing effective business and support responses to aid the successful delivery of the charity’s strategy. You will help us improve how we operate, by driving continuous improvement through the introduction of new systems to improve efficiencies, and by ensuring the quality and consistency of our working practices.

As well as managing the charity’s procedures, systems and administrative team, you will work closely with Sight Scotland Veterans colleagues overseeing the compliance of our practices in line with the organisations wider framework and policies.
