Stephen joined Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans in January 2019. Before that he was Head of Resources and Governance at Clackmannanshire Council.

Stephen says: “I love the rich history of the charities. I really enjoy being able to use my skills and experience to help lead Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans in their mission to support more people from across Scotland who are blind or have sight loss.”

Stephen leads Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans’ corporate resources team which includes IT, HR, Finance, Estates and Buildings and Governance. Stephen started his career in the Royal Hong Kong Police and on returning to the UK in 1995 joined the Post Office and worked on marketing and commercial projects for around six years. Stephen moved to Scotland in 2002 to become a Governor in the Scottish Prison Service and moved on to hold executive roles in Education Scotland and the Scottish Court Service.

Stephen is married and has three grown up children. In his spare time Stephen enjoys playing and watching sport, baking bread and learning about history.
